my thoughts - too contrasty- 'tho the light was very harsh, and maybe the toning is a bit too heavy handed? comments welcome. john

I really like the tone of these shots, they remind me of the tv show Picking daisies or the movie a series of unfortunate events.

The shadow of the tree in number one is great.
    Nice shots!

I used a TLR sepia tone and faded it back about 40%, not been happy with the print output on these though. Which led me to post them.
    Thanks for your comments

I think they are nice but just one query - did you sharpen much? When I examine them up close they look over sharpened in so far as you can see 'fringing' on the edges (not sure if thats the exact technical term - its the over sharp that i'm trying to describe). This would lead to unflattering prints if thats a problem. Of course i could be (and frequently am) entirely wrong! ;o)

    Cheers.

well spotted- they ended up havin alot of processing and there is some haloing goin on tho the compression for web seems to have exacerbated this effect- I was planning to do a version of the top one from scratch- hopefully i can remember all the steps. Thanks

I'd love to see the steps if you have the time to type them down too :)

    Know 3 of the 4 locations actually:D

To be honest not overly gone on the processing. Works better on the building shots than on the other's imo.

Like no. 4 a lot and No. 1 , thats a shot I wish I had taken, simply marvellous.

    T.
