    Hi,
We are building at the moment and went with normal glass in our bathroom and ensuite windows reason being I am allergic to frosted glass, too 1980. The ensuite will overlook a house about 200 metres away and my other half still giving out about it. What can you get to privatise the glass a bit. I think I've seen film you can put on the window? Any assistance appreciated.

Lol, people dont still have frosted bathroom glass because they cant let go of the 80's ;) It is for privacy tbh.

But, Abigayle to the rescue. Here is an example of some 'modern' day frosted window film. Hope its of some help.

I think frosted glass was around long before the '80s. The problem with frosted film is it's only available in 18 inch and 24 inch, meaning ugly joints if glass panes are larger than this.
If you realy want to stay glear of frosting, go for venetian blinds.

We live in the coountry side, so thankfully no problem with privicy. I've put cottage style half-nets on all front windows, en-suite facing front of house, cant see in through them, just in case the post man is passing by.:o

There's alternatives to frosted glass - there some that's clear but distorts the view, we use it on the lower pane of our bathroom windows.

a variety of designs you can choose from.
frosted film is it's only available in 18 inch and 24 inch,
some sign makers have wider rolls, they could also cut an unusual design in the film. To make your window unique.
The ensuite will overlook a house about 200 metres away
your neighbours would have to be particularly nosey and have v.good eye sight.

A vertical or pull down blind or internal / external window shutters could work to give temporary privacy depending on if they go with the style of your house.
There is also the high tech approach Smart glass, where the glass is "switched" from clear to frosted. Seen it used in toilet cubicles .............. stops people from staying to long on the loo as they are afraid that the glass will time out and go clear.

The main bathroom is to the front of my new house, no way frosted glass was going in that. The solution as already stated is simple, venetian blinds, the wooden type can now be got for reasonable money and do look the part.

The electrostatic glass is also pretty swank, anyone know of irish suppliers for it ?
