Looks the shizzle alright!! Don't know if I could be torn away from Series60 though.

HTC have loaded up a heap of videos on Youtube about it after their launch thing in London yesterday.

From the Youtube videos it looks nice.
Seems very sleek and hardware specs-wise IIRC has everything that the (its predecessor? ) Touch-Cruise has (HSDPA, Wifi, GPS?, FM Radio etc).

But obviously the innovation here is the new Touch interface (TouchFLO 3D it's being dubbed AFAIK).
Admittedly from the videos not as slick as the iphone UI but impressive in it's own way nonetheless.
Looks intuitive enough for contacts, photos, video, music etc but i'm just wondering is it as immediately responsive as the iphone UI.

They've also gone with Opera only on it apparently, so no PIE.
Again from the videos, browsing experience probably not as good as the iphone but looks like it's improving.

Actually anyone know if this new TouchFLO 3D interface is likely to be installable/flashed to current/previous HTC devices like the Touch-Cruise and Tytn II?
    I wouldn't mind having it.

pie is there alright...it's part of wm, and microsoft wouldn't let them do away with it (moto q9h comes with opera as default browser as well, but pie is there! Though some reviewers missed that), but yep: opera is there, and it's opera mobile 9 (currently not available standalone... It supports full youtube, google video etc...proper widgets; fingerscrolling etc etc... I think the ui might be more impressive in real life than on video - I've seen a number of clips of mobile shell, and none really catch just how smooth and sleek and usable that is...
Anyhow... i want this! There'll be one with a slide out qwerty as well...hmmmmmmmm, yeah!

doubt it... Not in that shape'n'form... i watched all the videos, and read all the first p/reviews: it looks like the new touch ui is really "throughand through" embedded... Apparantly one really can't tell it's wm exept for the "start button"... Did you see opera on it? The youtube app? O my o my... i really want it! And a proper onscreen qwerty....
Pocketlint and some others reckon it's the first serious iphone contender, and they played with unfinished models...

A couple of Youtube videos of how it works:

Just realised there's no storage card slot so you're restricted to 4gb internally apparently.
    Not good tbh. :(

ive heard that said a lot but, ive never used more than 2gb

how much old unlistened to music/ unwatched movies do people want to store :p

    Yeah sure.
But this is being touted as a multimedia device isn't it with the photo and music stuff.
Any decent sized music collection is at least 2gb.
This device also has GPS apparently.
So W. Europe maps are 1gb.
    N. America maps another 1gb IIRC (if you want those).
Then if you want to download the odd Youtube video or podcast- that's another 1gb.
Reference works (books, pdfs, encyclopedias, manuals etc) and documents- potentially another 1gb.
That's apart from movies- optional, admittedly though on a mobile device.

So i'm not sure what HTC are at tbh.
The Touch-Cruise and Tytn II can support up to a theoretical 32gb with their micro-sdhc slots.
Just thought it was a bit of an oversight.

I could live with that. I wouldn't plan on storing much more on it anyway, myself.

Looks great but have to agree 4gigs is too small for a music photo video player with GPS especially when iphone is now at 16gigs
Iphones 4gig did not sell and was withdrawn very quickly

4 gigs with no expansion slot is a mistake pity looks like a great phone

maybe they will correct it with larger capacities later
