you need mushrooms for the majority of them, i'd say. like the one near the end of the luigi track. Theres a gap before the turn, in past the flower chopper eat-y things, that'll save ya a few seconds, but as its over grass, ur gonna need a mushroom to fly thru it. Or invincibility.

on the Peach level (the one with the Round-a-bouts) there is a little short cut up through one of the buildings. handy to have a mushroom for it as well because it is up some steps.

Delfino Square. Sharp right turn just after the bridge down a muddy side street. You need a mushroom but it's a great one for overtaking the person in 1st. Cuts the corner and comes out before the big bridge that opens and closes. Not sure if this shortcut was on the DS. If it was I didn't see it.

warios mines. after you go on the train track that had the coal buckets thats have the magic boxes behind them, just before you go to go back innto the tunnell where the bats are keep left and you will do through another tunnell with turbo boosts and magic boxes.

    It sure was.

Also, before the bridge if you take a left and use a mushroom you can jump across the water and land on little jetty. You need to get the angle right and its a tight landing but its well worth it and there is an item box.

Watch out, if the rail car isn't out of the way in time you'll collide with it and fall off the track. Start your powerslide early to nail the first power boost.

that level midnight highway, or whatever its called. its not really a shortcut, but after the first bend, u can go up the wall to a path up the top with a boost. it also helps ya avoid gettin hit by cars.

on peach beach as well, theres a sorta half shortcut too. well, more of an alternate route. after the 1st bend, keep left and theres a ramp and magic boxes over there.

Can't find this one. You sure it's luigi track?

This one can be dodgy, if the tide in you'll land in the water and without a mushroom it'll slow you right down. often you cnat see wheither the tide is in or not till you are in the air!

i think onn the first lap, the tide should be ok.. the second lap is a bit dodgy, and depending on how fast you were the third lap should be ok.

that's the way it was on the gamecube version anyway

Do an in air trick and it wont matter too much if the tide is in or out, you'll still make it without any hassle.

Is it actually a short-cut though? I always thought that going straight in a line through the beach was the fastest way. Although you have to veer slightly to the side to avoid the tide on the last lap.

Any Rainbow Road shortcuts? Besides the forked road.

don't think there are ever shortcuts on rainbow, except for the snes version.

as for the peach beach, it was a great shortcut in the gamecube version.. cos you'd drop down low enough by taking the detour and maybe get a few mushrooms.. as for the wii, it's basically just for the boxes.

There is a jump with a mushroom that lets you cut out a particularly annoying corner, Cant describe exactly where it is, I'll have a look again and post. Its tough, I've never managed to make the landing stick but I reckon its defo doable.

Yes there are. The N64 one could take out half the course if you jumped left going down the hill at the start. You didnt even need a blaster mushroom to do it.

I remember that, evertime we played that there would be a row about weither we were going for the jump, then when we decided no, half of us would go for it anyway, the results would all be diputed and the loser would refuse to make the tea:p

that short cut on the N64 version was the best short cut ever. we still get the N64 emulator out and play that course over and over again.

i tend it ignore the n64 version... travesty of a game imo.
