    hello!

first of all i'm new to wireless networking but...

i want to use a netopia 2247nwg and a high gain antenna(Netgear ANT2409 in particular, which it's said to have a range 2900ft) to boost the wifi rage to at least 700-800m! i looked up some info on the web and it seems that the netopia 2247nwg has connectivity for 3rd party high gain antennas but am not too sure about that. so here's my questions:

    1. can anybody confirm the two are working together?
    2. is there any heath risks in using the netgear antenna(i was reading on their website and there are some specs as to the length of cable one should use with the antenna,)
    3. since the cable mentioned on the manufacturer's site(for the antenna) is quite expensive can i use coax cable with this antenna (with Ntype to SMA adaptor? or am i talking rubbish)

    thank you,

Netopia could if asked I'd imagine.
    2. is there any heath risks in using the netgear antenna(i was reading on their website and there are some specs as to the length of cable one should use with the antenna,)
I'm not sure what the connection is between your two statements. The length of the cable is important in radio traffic because of the wavelength of the signal.
    3. since the cable mentioned on the manufacturer's site(for the antenna) is quite expensive can i use coax cable with this antenna (with Ntype to SMA adaptor? or am i talking rubbish)
No, use the recommended cable. Poor cable will result in signal loss.
