Ive got a friend of a friend that landed over to Austrailia recently and is working on a farm over there. Apparently he's making serious cash. The work is tough bit this doesnt bother me. I would like to find out some info on farming jobs in Oz. Where would be the best spot for work? Do you know of anyone that had a farming job over there? Is the money as good as he says it is? etc.

Thanks in advance for any feedback

You're asking if a job which require no noticable training, education or risk will make you serious cash? That is answering your own question, no?

Anyway I'd guess your friend worked in Australia during one of their high seasons (it lasts around 3 months as I recall) picking fruit etc. I hightly doubt you'll find the equalent in Oz though as their economy is not as farm driven as Australia. Also as I recall you're only allowed to work for the same place for 3 months at the time but I can't recall the exact details of work visa for Australia. Oh and keep in mind the draught down there.

Are Oz and Australia not the same place?

You can work in one place for up to 6 months now. they changed the rule.
I've heard of people working 7 days a week in the middle of nowhere and saving AU$10,000 in 2 months. Maybe that is what he was on about? The save so much (that's equal to €5500 last I checked) because they don't spend a penny in that time (nothing to buy out there) and food and accom is included in the price.
Work is hard and sunburn is a bitch.
If you google you'll find loads, or might be better to wait til you get to Australia and see what's available.

I had a friend that worked on a farm in a remote part of NSW. He was basically bailing hay and then when he was finished that he had to collect all the hay. All in all it took him ten weeks. I think the money was min wage ($17??) The work was not phyiscally hard but the hours were long (i.e. sitting in a tractor for 10 hours a day). The plus side was that he saved lots of money coz board and food was free and there was not much to spend his money on. His boss also suppiled my mate with a car while he was down there. Basically u save money coz he cant spend it but in the major cities you cant keep money in your pocket (Well I cant anyway)
