Permissions on Vista

I set up a normal user account for my brother to play poker on but the poker program downloads and updates everytime its opened so with vista it can only be run as an administrator.

How do I give him perminent permission to open that one program without giving him admin?

    Cheers.

No can do. Permissions are all or nothing on a per account, not per application basis.

Did you install the software when logged into the admin account or his user account?

If done from your account, you could just un-install and then reinstall when logged into his account. Should work then.

You can, if you wish, make the poker program run with administrator privilages from the standard user account. But an administrators password would need to be entered every time the game is launched.

maybe it only needs admin rights to it's own folder
unlikely but if so then all you would have to do is give him full control rights on the relevant folder

it will probably need rights to the registry , and it's not worth risking trashing it nad there is the whole UAC thing

perhaps a different poker site ?
