I have been using marshall a lot but really thinking of moving to something else. I am kind of getting into the randall MTS stuff. Is there somewhere in town i can try it?

    What else do you reccomend

Really depends on what you're into man, what kind of style you're going for?

There's a lot of great amps out there, Mesa, Engl, Soldano, VHT and many more, they've all got a very good range.

    good call man.

    marshall blow the big one.

    i'm a vox/fender man myself.

    never played a randall tho.

as the lads have said, engl would spring to mind as an immediate marshall superior.

It just kind of sprang on me. When i crank a marshall its great but I just want a change. I am all about the compact rigs at this stage so Im not sure if I want the boogie route. I love boogie to bits, they are top notch but they can be heavy and i just want handiness! i am liking this rocktron prophesy! i am kind of opening up to different sounds now

They have a good price on the Boogie F-30 head in guitarguitar at the minute, that's a compact enough rig. I'd say it's only about half the width of a regular head, and plenty loud and versatile. Grab a matching 1x12 and you'd carry the head in one hand and the cab in the other.

You can't go wrong with Boogie tbh, the quality is superb. And if you go for a little black box, your resale value is gone as soon as they bring out a newer fancier one.

I dont know. I was set on the Vetta II and still kind of am but want to look at all my options.

Pity you didn't pick up the Vetta they had cheap in the MusicMaker sale recently.

Its a good amp no doubt. If you see one for a good price I wouldn't have a problem going for it.

is the vetta gone yeah? Was in with it a while ago

So, what are you thinking, modelling amps? Depending on your budget, you might want to check this?

Prob digital karl yeah. I am looking at sub 1500 euro.

To be honest I am interested in trying out some fendery type stuff even. I like the marshall sound but its only a start point. I prefer the boogie distortion sounds, so much depth.

I really like this rocktron prophesy. The Axe-fx is the business but i would need some sort of poweramp and pedal board. Thinking of maybe even something like a blues deluxe with a tubescreamer, delay and chorus or something. Really diggint the Randall MTS stuff aswell. Or a switchblade?

What type of Marshall do ya have? Would ya try a vintage Marshall instead? Theyre usually always better than the newer stuff

I just noticed that the ENGL Screamer is about €990 on Thomann, but the UK sites have it priced at £1099 + shipping.

    Probably because it's German made.
The opposite to Marshall.....Thomann are much dearer for Marshall than the UK sites.....gak.co.uk etc.

Check Engl out on youtube....always gets great reviews and i have a notition to change my Marshall JVM 2x12 for an Engl.

A Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Roadster is the s**t..........i am dreaming of the day i get one of those....:)

I'm sure you could just go direct with it, so that leaves out the need for a poweramp. Pedal boards aren't that expensive either.

Sei, if you ever want to testdrive an Engl, let me know. I got the best one. ;)

Cheers Karl. I'l bring the Erdinger/Tiger Beer.
Im really really liking this Randall MTS thing. Its a few pound really though and i suppose I dont NEED a new amp..... BUT I WANT ONE!!!

Why it's the Engl Invader 100, of course. ;)

I've tried a lot of Engls, and this baby really is the pinnacle.

Well, this one would be the flagship, but honestly, the Invader is almost as versatile, and has better low gain tones. I think for someone who's not into screaming high grain saturation, it's a far better amp.
