    Hey guys,
Is riding abroad on a Prov A license allowed? Or does it depend on the country?

    cheers!

Take a look at your licence.

It'll say not valid outside the state or words to that effect.
So no, you can't ride abroad with it, sorry!

My ex got away with a provisional Irish bike license in the North of Ireland which is technically a part of the UK.

Eh, not technically, it is part of the UK !!!

The Provisional licence is only valid in the 26 counties of the Republic Of Ireland, if you leave those 26 counties (ie Ireland) then you are actually driving without a licence and will be subject to the local laws covering such offence.

Believe me I've had personal experience with the PSNI and the Heddlu De Cymru, not a nice bunch and don't like Irish, especially the ones that break laws.

Yes - if a person an a provisional licence/learner permit wishes to travel from Dublin to Donegal, for example, they would be legally required to go via Sligo/Leitrim.
