I want revenge

OK,after reading this you will definitely think I am a nutter and I actually agree with you but I can't help it.
I posted here around six months ago about a nasty experience I had when I took a job with a guy who turned out to be a complete "word that rhymes with stick".
I am an IT graduate and the job was with a guy running his own company who had one other person working for him.
After the interview I must admit I didn't really like the guy but I wanted a job so badly I was prepared to take anything due to my mental state deteriorating with every day on the dole.
So when he offered it to me I decided to accept. I say "offered" but he didn't really, he sent me an email asking me to ring him and when I did he said "I have a number of reservations but would you come in for a week and see how you get on?"
Like a fool I said "OK" but in hindsight considering he couldn't even be bothered to pick up the 'phone to ring me and offer me the job in person and then have such a condescending attitude toward me, I should have told him to take a walk.
Liked I say, I was desperate.
Anyway, to cut a long story short I worked for him for two and a half days before quitting as he turned out to be a bully who insulted me more than once.
I said "There's not much point in continuing so" and he said in the most arrogant tone you can imagine "That's no problem at all" and let me walk out the door.
Since then I got a great job which pays much better than his would have and I like it (most of the time). I am really happy and content apart from one problem:I want to bash this guy's brains in.
I don't mean actually kill him but I am obsessed with the idea of getting revenge. I think about it every day and haven't done anything about it yet but I feel as if I will never be at peace until I get this out of my system.
I really want to "do" him and verbal response will not satisfy me.
I don't want to do anything to jeopardise the career I have at the moment but at the same time I have a burning hatred for this person and I want to get him.
Crazy I know, I have a good job and I should be satisfied but I just can't help it.

    Yes, that is crazy.

Either cop on or get help.

    /No offence

It's ok to think like that, but you aren't actually going to do anything. If you were it would be done by now. I have come across people like you before. So just move on.

First off all congrats on the new job.

    Secondly.....cop on.

What would physical revenge do? Get you in front of a judge. Well done. You have a good job now, his business will probably never do well so forget it.

You could spread the word in the IT sector how much of a plank he is.

Build a bridge and get over it.

You needed help and he abused you and made you feel impotent.
Tough, get on with your life.

at one point or another everyone wants revenge most cases it passes
others people do things like calling health and saftey, or the revenue on thier previous employers, you should try and put it behind you

    So in a short version
    • you got a job
    • the boss was a jerk
    • you quit (with good reason)
    • you still think he's a jerk
    • and you now want revenge for him being a jerk

Seriously mate....get over it? If you get this way about everyone who rubs you up the wrong way then you need to talk to someone about anger issues

    You're going to do nothing.

If you were going to "do" him you'd have done it. But instead your post is full of hard talk.

As a wise bouncer once said "Never fear the man with the big mouth, fear the man who looks you coldly in the eye and says nothing!"

Nah, you're going to do nothing, go get laid tbh

Don't even waste your time thinking about it. Be happy and enjoy your new job, don't give the other lad a second thought. Some people are assholes, that's life.

Generally, people who are assholes are deeply unhappy people.

He probably hates himself. Take comfort from that.

    Hi OP

At one point or another you will meet a complete dickhead in the course of your career. I work with one at present, he is a liar, dreadful at his job, completely untrustworthy etc etc etc etc.... Anyways my point is, eventually karma will get him and when it does I will sit back and laugh, till then I will not wind myself up about him anymore.

Just be thankful you are away from him and getting your career on track.

There are pr1cks (you can say it) and nice people in life and they all have on thing in common: the teach us something. Perhaps unwillingly, but hey - he made you stronger.

    Alternatively, Pity him.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

The purpose of the post wasn't to boast about what I was going to do to this guy, I just wanted to get it off my chest I suppose. There are more suttle ways of getting revenge I suppose. The best way would be to be a huge success at my present job and prove him wrong in that way.
The job I was doing is still advertised by the way, kind of proves something I think.

Why do you feel you have to prove yourself? Why has someone who was in your life for such a brief period of time affected you so much? These are questions you need to ask yourself.

If ya can get away with it missus and not leave a trace id say go for it:D:D Revenge is sweet,,,,,sounds like he deserves a bit of sweet revenge.

Redpunto Opinion is one thing but advocating dubious behaviour will not be tolerated around here. Read the charter.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Do you suffer from depression by any chance? People with depression often get caught in obsessive rumination about revenge. They are angry and their mind can't let it go.

Yeah, I've suffered bouts of depression, maybe that's something to do with it. "Anger is depression turned inward" (so said Dr. Melfi in The Sopranos anyway)

Living well is the best revenge. Seriously.

You're not going to get anyone on here vindicating you by telling you what you should do to get revenge. Firstly, it's not allowed by the rules of the forum. And secondly, it's a ridiculous idea!

This guy has obviously affected you but, come on, you worked there for two days. Get on with your new job, have a bit of fun, and be happy in the knowledge that someone like him will never have a good life, no matter how much money or posessions they have!

Redpunto was joking, no? At least that's how I interpreted it.

As for nasty people never having good lives, I want to believe it, but I've seen too much evidence to the contrary.

No, it's not really a good life. Can have lots of money, a nice house, nice car etc but will never have friends like a genuine person, or someone who loves them like a genuine person. The only people attracted to the likes of them are people like themselves.

    OP
You would appear to be more than a tad on the obsessive side. You should get a grip on that, let it go and move on.

Life is going to throw more than a few crappy things at you, this is no where near one of them.
