Hey, Im hoping to do commerce in galway this year, and was just wondering about what the accomodation is like and if there are any particularly good student residents, or anythig else like what is closest to the place where the majority of commerce lectures are?

    Thanks

id advise anybody who is about to start first year in nuig, to live in corrib village.... i lived there in first year and it was such a class year.... i know people who lived in other student accomodation during that year - they still had a good time but not near as good as we did in corrib! but, youl be expected to be back repeating next august!

Thats a great help to the OP, Brian. Showing us all that you know how to use spellchecker, fair play. With an attidue like that its obvious your going to go far!

Robaato, hope you've enjoyed your time in Ireland so far and you've made a good choice in choosing to go to college in Galway. Corrib village is virtually where all first years live, its a great place to meet people and is only five to ten minutes walk from the main college campus where most/all of your lectures will take place. On the down side the apartments are tiny and kitted out with the cheapest stuff possible. Its also quite a crazy place with house parties virtually everynight, fire alarms going off, fire extinguishers being let off, windows broken...Not to scare you or anything, I spent first year there and loved it, but just letting you know what to expect. If you've any other questions feel to ask them.

Check out "Y'All Want a Single?" by Korn.

Girls love it cuz its kinky as f**k
If you're interested in Astronomy and physics its a really good course...as long as you dont mind sitting in front of a computer 5 hours a day in 3rd & 4th year! Seriously..alot of computers.

Its cool cos you do some aspect of Astronomy each semester in every year, more than any other Astronomy course in the country.
I dont care if I'M the only one saying THIS...I really dont...

I just dont understand why some of you dont like St. Anger.
It puzzles me...I mean, show me any album EVER made thats anything like it.

    You can't.

Anywho...back to the point of the thread, I agree that Metallica are a great band to see live. James is such an awesome frontman, and Rob is hilarious for some reason. But I think Lars is SERIOUSLY lacking these days. He's just a rock drummer now. He doesn't play thrash anymore. And Kirk just doesnt seem inspired anymore.....BUT I guess all will show in the next record!!
Doesn't say much though i'm afraid...i guarantee you half of the people watching it last night were sitting there splitting their holes everytime Pat made some ridiculous comment, or some toy didn't work because the 'environment' was interfering!
Was bored yesterday, sick of studyin and all the rest, so I decided I'd go to the cinema and catch a 5pm showing.

None of me mates were up for it, so I just said to hell with this, and went by myself!
Jus goes to show how messed up the world is

For the last few weeks now, I've been experiencing a serius problem that I havent been able to explain...and I need help fast

I was always of 'scientific' mindset and didnt believe in anything paranormal, but since I saw something one night....
about an hour ago my mam heard the Big Bang. the dog went crazy.
we were thinkin, what could it be.. then we saw the extremely condensed matter of the universe expanding from a single point. couldnt see anythin from looking out the front or back windows. so my dad took the dog out shot it. at this point we thought it was a cat.
anyways, my dad comes back and tells an hilarious anecdote to a fella. I shot up a good few times while the ambulance people were w**king on him there.the binman fled on foot.

i know this happens everyday in dublin but its never "happened" so to speak.
im a bit weary. My time has come. now i know somebody has it for a fella around the corner. jehova knows wat could happen.
elaborate if you have had similar experiences!
Went to Graspop last year in Belgium, and I gotta say it was prob the best 3 days of my life...ever.

It combined all of my favourite things like metal, drinking, ****-talkin with strangers, mosh pits etc. To the extent that I'm prob gonna just do Download, Graspop AND Wacken next summer as my holiers.

Anyone been to any of these? N just how awesome are they?

Really wanna hear any ridiculous stories, f**k knows I have my fair share from jus that weekend

    kisses

For 1st it has to be corrib, you will meet the most random people, and do the strangest things, but it will be the best 8 months of your life, just destroy someone else's place not yours, its costly if you destroy yours, and plus we will be back on the first night of next year for some fun, so if you live in 153 ill be back to see how well the fixed the place up

These lads know what's up. I'm nearin the end of first year and I'd give anything to stay here again. I am actually considering staying here for 2nd year - I know it's supposed to be a First Year's place but most of my lectures are in the Cainre's building (2 mins walk) and providing you're not right in the middle (Block L/M) and your flatmates aren't insane, you can strike a good balance between getting study done and going mental when you choose. Only downside is the wifi sucks, security can be dicks, and if you're working late nights (i.e. getting back after 3am) you have to climb the dangerous gate (someone lost a finger a few months ago) or walk a loooong way around...

    single rooms still available?

possible to leech free food off lotsa other people while there instead of getting a job?

Think I'm doing commerce too, not too pushed, either it or arts, neither are gonna benefit me too much...
