Bodyboard as carry on with aerlingus?

    I'm heading off to spain in the morning with my son and I was wondering if anyone knows if he will be allowed to take his 33" bodyboard as carry on bagage ?
    We are flying with aer lingus.
    The bodyboard was cheap (10e spiderman one in dunnes) so I wouldnt be devastated if we had to leave it at the airport but I'd like to have him prepared for the fact we might have to leave it behind!

    From the Aer Lingus website:
    "The maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are:
    56cms x 45cms x 25cms or 22in x 18in x 10in."

    I think 33" is pushing your luck.

    As far as I know they charge 30 euro skis/snowboards/surfboards so Im doubting theyll allow you through without paying for it, Id be prepared to leave it at the house TBH.

    You can probably buy or rent one in Spain for alot less than the 60 euro return theyll charge you to bring it.

    Not a hope of getting away with that.
    As someone else said buy a cheap one out there.

    Lol-Am I the only one that mis-read the thread title as being body guard as carry on with aer lingus :D

    Nope,
    but strangly enough I mis-read the thread title as being Body bag as carry on with aer lingus :D. Had to read it again!! Weird!!!
