Virtual Console Questions

    Planning on getting a wii at the end of this week (280 in zavvi with one game i think). One of the big reasons I want one is the VC because I would love to play the N64 and SNES classics that I loved from years ago.
    One of the things I want to know is how do you pay for the VC games? Ive got a wireless internet connection so downloading isnt a problem. Do you enter you credit card details (like on the playstation store) and add funds? Or do you have to buy a card?
    Also, how much are the VC games?
    Cheers!

    You can either buy Wii points cards in shops or use a credit card. Credit card's the better option because shops add surcharges.

    1000 points is roughly a tenner.

    N64 = 1000
    Snes= 800
    Mega Drive= 800
    Neo Geo= 900
    Nes= 500
    Turbo-Grafx= 600
    thats it as far as i know

    You need to get an SD card to download the games to once you buy them. Most of the shops have branded ones but these are way over priced, you can get a 2 gig one online, for less than tenner.

    No you don't... I've had a Wii since launch day, I have 15 VC games, and I've never put an SD card in my console... If you plan on going nuts with your credit card, I think you can use an SD to expand storage. Its definitely not required to use VC though (the Wii has a 512mb solid-state drive in it).

    Well shut my mouth. Fair enough so.

    Credit card is the better option for payment, though Gamestop, last i checked, had 2000 points for 20euro. Might have changed.

    Also, be aware, some classic games aren't as good as you remember :pac:

    Thanks for the replys. I dont intend going mad on the downloads, just a few SNES and N64 games.

    yep there are a few that I've got my eye on, 2000 points ought to cover the lot infact.

    Gonna get some more play out of MArio Kart and Galaxy first though.
