My mate was telling me about this course you can apply for in Journalism that's run by the Thomas Crosbie Holdings group. It's normally for employees in the businesses owned by the above. It's something like 5-7 months of modules in the area.

Does anybody know how you go about applying for it anyway? I've heard that it's around this time of year that they start taking applications, and that places are very limited on it as well. Dunno much else really..

Give TCH a buzz on 021 4272214 and ask. Standard tends to be relatively poor or at least a lot of the people who do it aren't really that arsed which creates a lot of opportunities for people who are willing to knuckle down and work hard and have the right attitude. Good luck with it.

It's a pretty good course if you want to get into journalism, as it takes about a year and they send you to two different papers in their group for six months each for work experience during the course. Then you go up and down to cork every month or so for the thought part of the course. Only down side is the pay is pretty poor, around €200 a week, which aint much if your living away from home and if you pass your tied to TCH papers for about three years.
