Hey, I'm not sure how to post up pics here but I'm hoping you guys will know who I'm referring to and the style in general.

I have a 21st coming up soon so I want to get a nice dress. Thing is I only really feel pretty when I'm wearing something that is mildly gothic and that is vampy looking. I absolutely love Amy Lee (Evanescence singer) in her Video 'Call Me When You're Sober'. (youtube it - sooo pretty)

Anyway I've pretty much worn all the nice dresses I have already. I'm in dire need to expand my wardrobe. My problem isn't finding 'goth/rocker' shops, it's more that I like a subtle gothic style so their clothes are just too extreme for me. More old gothic than this new-rock thing. Anybody know where I'll find pretty dresses around Dublin that won't cost loads and won't be that ridiculous fairy/stripey/puffy style??

If anyone sees anything similar to the style in the above video could you please let me know? Thanks :)

*just as an example, last party I had, I wore a lovely black lace dress and wore red sleeves too. I really, really liked it. So I'm looking for similar subtle things like that rather than scary buckles and leather etc..

well as far as i know, amy makes her own clothes but you could try some of the second hand charity shops or even if theres a fashion college near you maybe have a word with the students?

You could look at getting something made for it instead? There's a shop in Temple Bar called Peekaboo, I looked there a while back when I was looking for a debs dress, you can design your own dress there, a lot of the dresses there were quite vampy/gothy, so I'm sure they could make up something that you'd like? Might be pricey though!
    Here's the website: http://www.peekaboodesignstudio.com/

Try the brand "Omen." You can get their stuff online.

basically, wander around temple bar, see what you find.

there's also... damn, see if i can remember where this is... upstairs in... could it be clery's? dammit, that big department store type thing across the road from easons, i think it's on the corner before talbot street, to the liffey side... i think it's called traffic (though that bit could be really wrong), have some really cool gothy/lacy/generally unusual dresses and skirts and the likes. gotten some really nice stuff there on occasion (generally anything more than jeans is too much effort for me), but ill see if i can find out where it is. almost positive it's upstairs in that shop.

I agree with secondhand/charity shops. I got really 'different' styles from them. What about Oxfam, alot of hype about them in the media lately.
