I've just installed Apache 2.2 but can't get it to run as a service as it says that my port 80 is already in use. It seems that I already have a server running somewhere on my PC.

    Pointing to 127.0.0.1 confirms this.

How can I discover what it is (it isn't IIS) so I can uninstall it?

Download and run Hijack This and post a log. We'll be able to see all currently running processes.

TCPView will show you what process is using what port.
