    Hi All
This is drivin me and the missus nuts.
There is a high pitched ringing coming from the tv after its been on for about an hour or so.
The only way to stop it is to bang the top of the set (its not a flat panel, its a CRT)
Anybody know what could be causing this.....its not that old.

    Cheers

    HB

Hehe, this came up before. It's a right romance killer alright! :D

I think it came down to coils getting loose. A few gentle taps can sometimes silence it.

Thats true :) But tapping it only stops it for about 10 mins then you gotta do it again :(
Any way to tighten the coils? .......whatever they are!

I know it's a rareity these days but is there anywhere in Galway that repairs TV sets.....or do people just chuck em out when they stop working

Don't know what can be done with it. Is Hynes' electrical shop (Dominick St.) still open?

O Conners on the Sean Mulvoy Road do CRT repairs but if the TV is a few years old it might be best to just replace it.
