I did this course, I didn't specialise in Law in final year but I covered some of the FE1 exam subjects in other years, the advice I'd offer is that if you want a career in Law this is prolly one of the least direct courses for heading to the Law Society. It's not intended to be a full law degree and while you'll cover all the relevant subjects I just don't think you go into enough depth to be able for the FE1s with out some sort of preparatory course.

That said, a lot of people who do pure law degrees will go do a prep course for the FE1s afterwards anyways and EPL is not a bad course to do. I went into EPL with an interest in Law and then I found I absolutely hated studying Law and couldn’t do it for the rest of my life. If you’re looking at it as a sixth year I’d almost recommend it over a pure degree in anything as it leaves you with a diverse range of options and you’ll come out of it with a more rounded education than a pure Law head.

I'm just finishing second year EPL! Should be studying but hey...

Firstly I agree with the above, this course would not be in depth enough to prepare...actually in depth is the wrong word, like you do different sections of law, constitutional law, contract etc in depth but I dont know if you would cover all the sections for the FE1's,if I do decide to do the fe1s i would want to do a prep course...but (sorry to be not giving a precise answer) I am planning to do a lot of law next year and therefore I may have enough then...

Secondly I love law!! I choose this course because I didnt want to be pigeon-holed into a certain career...I liked law and politics and therefore picked this! I love the law side of it more than anything else now! I'm delighted I did it instead of rushing into something which would only led me down one path!
And this doesn't mean I want to be a solicitor or barrister...instead I found I loved equality and discrimination law and thus I would love to work in HR or more than likely i'll end up in the legal section of a business! Fingers crossed :D

Hope this helps and remember its not like school, you can always change your mind about your course!
