This site looks really interesting. No time to check it out.
I look forward to your reports and assessments before I fork out €50

Is it just for Garmin or can they be used on TomTom aswell?

Read about that in the Irish Times Business Supplement last Thursday-
IIRC i think they are only for Garmin at the moment.
I thought 50 quid was a bit steep though, they'd want to be fairly comprehensive POI's for that price.
Would be great though to finally have a proper Irish database of POI's for all file types.

I never really use POIs - they don't have the ones I want (Lidl, Homebase, Woodie's, all those horrible, horrible 'business centres' that form mazes in Clondalkin and Walkinstown). How do others use them?

From looking at the registration page it looks like Tom Tom is supported.

    50 squid.....f*ck that

especially when you can get free ones all over the place

The TomTom site promotes sharing of POI files which is free

I create some of my own and add to others I've downloaded....

peking97 - www.mypois.ie is not compatible with TomTom just yet.

lex luthor - there are approximately 7,800 POIs on the site that can be downloaded free to your Garmin GPS if you want. More free downloads will be released in the next few months. You can also look up, search, and view all 18,500 POIs on our site free of charge without having to go near your pocket.
