    Hi folks
just wondering does anyone know where i could do a course in testing CAT5 cables. I am an electrician myself and find that most people in the trade are learning about it as they go from job to job learning from their mistakes etc....Does anybody know is there any online courses or web site on the topic?

em usually the supplier will offer training FOC if you can let them think that you will buy their product.
Have you asked a supplier, i know kellihers offer training for Nexan products, and there are others out there too like Excel, you could ring them.

TBh there is not much in it IMO. It should be easy to get a one on one, where you show the guy that you can terminate the cable. Once he/she sees that you can they will give you a little cert, might even have a gold stamp on it depending on how good their printer is ;)

and by it I mean getting a cert, I dont mean being actually good or bad at working on data projects

Woods do some courses that might be worth looking at:

I haven't been on any of them but I've always found them to be an extremely knowledgeable company
