    Dear miss Gilligan,

Please note that while your column in the Irish Independent is bereft of originality, it could be redeemed if you injected some actual humour into it. You know, some jokes. A couple of humorous swerves. Perhaps some witty one liners. Perhaps your character, whatever her name is, finds herself in a hilariously unusual situation, that only gets more ludicrous as the story unfolds. Perhaps set a premise at the start of each tale creating tension that builds and builds until the side-splitting conclusion.

If you cannot do this, at least please submit a weekly cross-word or puzzle to your editor instead of the drivel you provide in your OMG! Column each week. Or hey, better yet, rather than a cross-word or a puzzle, how about a spot-the difference collage of your OMG! and Paul Howard's Ross O'Carroll Kelly. And astute reader will notice that one is both a hard-hitting social satire of modern Ireland and a rib-tickling display of comic genius, while the other is just the goo of a girl trying to gather some extra pocket-money to go on the piss with in Cambridge.

    Yours,

    El Flange

yes the column is beyond words, you'd think being the indo the least they could would be to print yet another rip off an english papers column.

You can also ask your newsagent to remove the magazine - after all what are you missing - Mary Kenny sh1iting on about the menopause?

Buy the guardian on Sat instead - great paper

phf. this is ireland, we cant do humour on an institutional level. being the type of person to rise in the ranks of RTE or the INDO is diametrically opposed to having a sense of humour and wit.

TBH genuine intelligence is pushing your luck too.
