They are usually over the limit. You would want to check that it's been downgraded before you think of getting one.

There was a recall on them. My mates was over500fps with a .2g. Its all sorted out now i think.

ASG redisigned the cylinder allowing springs to be replaced.
MIA cut out the middle man and comissioned 1J springs from a company in Dublin, off their own bat, and fitted them to all the recalled pieces, and any sold from now on. FOC.;)

That's fine if you order off MIA but you should still be careful if you order them elsewhere that they are under the joule as they appear to be over the joule as standard.

    I don't want to sound like a product endorsement, but fair is fair;
The SSG from MIA is a sweet deal whichever way you cut it.

    I got one from MIA.

Its a great sniper for the money!
The mags are small and plastic and hold 20 bbs but they work!

    As for the SSG itself,

I like it, lovely shape and feel. Nice bit of weight and if you give it a custom paint job it looks better than some of its rivals!

I didnt have any issue with the power exceeding 1 joule so I cant comment.

    Its a straight shooter!

    My advice.... Get one!

did you get the ssg package deal frm MIA, if so whats the scope like?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 447 ✭✭gunner_twotone

No, just the SSG on its own, but the scope that comes with the deal is quite good!

You can get other scopes from the lads or shop around for something you'd like, but there's plenty of space with the top rail plus a small one underneath for a bi-pod.

I did hear that the bag supplied in the deal wont fit the SSG with the sights mounted so you'd have to take them off each time ( no bother )

Its a great starter and for the money you cant go wrong. If you wanted to splash a little more, the L96 comes with everything but the bag!( sights, bi pod )

eh the ssg does fit with the scope on lads, you just need to put it in upsidedown if you get me-with the scope near the zip side...

i got one and with a bit of oiling etc got it shooting straight, i can hit a matchbox multiple times at 30 feet

i got the scope and the bag at mia

the scope is nice and the gun fits the bag with the scope

i asked the guy in the shop was it the original spring, he said no they replaced it with a less powerful spring

i asked for the original spring and the guy said he couldn't sell

no bother, i am having a lot of fun with the gun

i am going to order a tight barrel for the gun to improve the accuracy and maby get a m110 spring and try to get the gun as close to 1j as possible without going over

An m110 spring wont fit in an SSG, they take completely different springs to normal AEG springs. Either way, an m110 is over 1 Joule (110m/s = 360fps)

And MIA chronoed it for me in store
    Top service as usual:D
