Is Sky News no longer FTA, since it seems to be gone from my FTA box?

No, all ok as at 19:55 on my FTA receiver. There have been some rumours that it will go subscription only but I don't know why, when you have excellent coverage from BBC News channel (no longer called BBC News 24).

Not to mention Euronews, Al Jazeera and France 24.

I haven't watched Sky News in a long time, but it's still there on my digibox.

Sky News is only good for the weather forecast on the interactive service.

Much of Sky News' output is so irrelevant to Irish viewers these days. They seem to be obsessed with the royal family and if anybody anywhere mentions the name 'Diana Princess of Wales', then immediately up flash the fit-inducing 'Breaking News' graphics.

I get much of my news from the radio these days.

They had the Irish opt out and canned it after a while. Seems the Irish population have no interest in that tabloid crap.

Yet anytime a breaking story occurs this country including its media (RTE) turns to Sky News. I suppose its a result of having it rammed down our throats in every pub for the last 10 years.

I believe France 24 (in English) is to close soon too.

Sky news is now working for me. It was out for at least a few hours on Friday (at least for me) but is working again now. I also perfer CNN & BBC News, but had heard Sky News was leaving FTA and figured this was it gone.
