I am writing to inform you that the Dapartment of Education has announced that the Carrigaline Educate Together National School is one of twenty-two new schools to be given sanction this year. See the full details in the web link below. This is great news for Carrigaline and for our children. This ensures that we are now in a position to proceed to open our new National School in September '08. Letters will be sent to the parents of all children eligible for September '08 to offer them a place.

We can now also reveal that we will be submitting a planning application to Cork County Council to establish a temporary school premises in the grounds of the Carrigaline United AFC (the soccer club on the Ballea Road) in the near future. We will be looking to the Department to fulfill its commitment to Educate Together to provide a permanent facility as soon as possible.

To celebrate the sanction of the Carrigaline Educate Together National School we propose to hold a Family Day in the Carrigaline Community Centre on the 8th of June. This will take some organising and we would love to hear from anyone who would be willing to assist in setting this up. Also we would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience in Face-painting, Magic shows or any other child oriented entertainment. You can contact me by mail or by phone on 087 667 9403.

We are also planning to run a fund raising raffle. The prize is a two person trip to the Heiniken Cup final in Cardiff featuring Munster and Touluse. The package includes flights, two nights Bed and Breakfast at a central Cardiff hotel and two seated tickets for the match. The total package is worth over €1800. Tickets will sell for €20 and there will be a limit of 500 tickets. If you want to buy a ticket please contact me at the details above. Or better still take a book of tickets and sell them to friends and family.

Finally we still need to grow our enrolment lists to ensure the future of the school so please tell your friends and neighbours. Pre-enrolment forms can we downloaded from the following web-site.
