    Hi,

I have noticed since I started to ramp up traiining that I have lost a bit of weight. To be honest I can afford to loose much as I was already quite trim.

What changes do people advice to diet in order to compensate for calories burned off in training. I suppose the easy answer is an extra meal but sometimes i just dont feel like that,

    B,

You could track your intake versus your requirements with an online calorie tracker like sparkpeople.

I will look into this. I was more thinking about how people might supplment their diets to prevent too much weight loss?

Eat high energy foods such as pasta/rice etc. For me, the big upside of athletics is you can eat all you like (obviously best to keep it to healthy stuff). I dont really have any extra meals, I just eat better foods then. Its also important to eat just after exercise, thats when your body most needs it. Bananas are a good sourse of energy, as are cereals. Make should you dont skimp on breakfast, get a bowl of cereal or something else healthy in as well, this is another time that you body is running low on energy and is likely to start eating into your fat reserves.

When I'm putting a lot of miles in I use RAM its a post workout shake two parts carbs one part protein. Tastes nice and it a quick and handy way of putting 600cal down you in a few minutes. Hope this helps.
