As some of you may know, there is a poker festival being planned in the fitz once again. And I'm gonna tell you all about the events going on during it.

The festival will run from Wednesday 15th October till Tuesday 21st October.

Wed 15th: Super Satellite, €50+10, unlimited rebuy satellite to the main event
Thurs 16th: €250+20, Freezeout, same structure as the end of month
Fri 17th 7pm: Fitzwilliam Open Day 1a, details below
Fri 17th 8.30pm: Scalps, normal friday night scalps tournament but with 2 rebuys and an add on or 3 rebuys.
    Sat 18th 4pm: Fitzwilliam Open Day 1b
    Sat 18th 8.30pm: Omaha Freezeout, €300+30, 7.5k starting stack, 30 min clock
    Sun 19th 4pm: Fitzwilliam Open Day 2
    Sun 19th 6pm: Fitz 500 (500+40) Freezeout
Mon 20th 7pm: Fitzwilliam Open Day 3 - if needed
    Mon 20th 7pm: Fitz 500 day 2
    Mon 20th 8.30pm: €100+10, 1 rebuy or add on
    Tues 21st 8.30pm: €100+10 Double Chance

The Fitzwilliam Open will be a €1000+75 Freezeout tournament with a 15k starting stack and a 1 hour clock. The blind levels will be the same as last time round.

I'll post more details of the structures as they are finalised.

    -Nic

EDIT: yes thanks marq...I was copy and pasting :-/

edit to say that the main event will almost certainly have no more than 75 euro registration.

Looks great and there is a good run into this Festival, so should generate more interest.

Could you check Marq about running weekly satellites etc., closer to Event, to generate more qualifiers etc., A Guaranteed number will attract more people...

Going with €1000 instead of €1500 for the main event is a good shout I think. I also say kudos for the €75 reg. Looks good. If I'm in the country at the time I think I would play because the blind structure you devised for last year's event looked genuinely top class.

    /hits head against wall!!:eek::eek:

so just to confirm, the marketing men at the fitzwilliam figured that with the ladbrokes sponsored €500 event on in october, and with PPP's irish Winter Festival on in october and with the International Poker Open on in october they figured the most appropriate time to have their Fitzwilliam festival was.... october?!?!?!

definately no way this would be more successful in september or november... no way...

Yet another rant about a tournament he has absolutely no intention of playing in. Do you ever get bored of playing the grumpy old man around here?

so in keeping with the "attack the post not the poster" nature of boards, would you consider my post to be inaccurate? do you, in your opinion, think it is a good idea for both the fitzwilliam and the poker community for this to be scheduled in october, or would you think it would be more successful in september or november?

and stop trolling me... i dont/wont get bored of contributing to this forum, you might get bored of me, but i doubt it, you love me.

He makes a good point, surely its irrelevent if he intends to play or not.
