    Howdy,

Got myself a dell laptop that came with vista home premium.

It seemed fine and I noticed that I had vista ultimate sitting in the corner of the room (Prize from MS) So I went to install that.

Tottally botched the computer. Something to do with the disk I guess.

Does anyone know what the story is with upgrading from home premium to business ultimate ? It's all legit versions.

Also when I tried to boot up an XP Pro cd it said it couldnt find the disk but I think thats related to the Vista ultimate somehow botching something or other.

IT's a dell xps 1330 if that makes a difference.

Did you do an upgrade or a fresh install?

Boot from the Ultimate DVD, format and reinstall.

It seems SP1 for Ultimate and Enterprise rewrites the MBR so there could be some hassle if you have these versions.
