Wrist pain

Ok, before you send me to the doctor, went for an xray about a year ago... got the all clear... just wondering should I go to the doctor again?

My wrist hurts when I bend it. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's quite painful. I'd prefer if it wasn't sore and would like to get it sorted but I was told the xray 12 months ago showed nothing, just a bang. I don't remember hurting at the time it started get sore. Should I go to the doc again or should it go away?

    I broke my arm/wrist when I was 10 but I'm 22 now so I doubt that's anything...

    Any ideas?

realistically a Dr isn't going to do much help.

I'd suggest going to A physical therapist / physiotherapist or reputable sports massage therapist. It could be that when you went about it and the xray came back clear that you were told it was a sprain?

if so the ligaments & tendons need work done on them to break down bad scar tissue that has formed. If it was me and you were presenting with this, i would run a series of tests to help get a differential diagnosis and then do this treatment to the ligaments and then some work to the muscles connecting to the wrist.

i'd definitely contact one of the above, no point wasting your €50 going to a dr about it, it needs physical treatment by the sounds of it.

try doing some wrist strengthening exercises also, but get it seen to first

Do you type a lot in work? It could be RSI/carpal tunnel syndrome. You should at least go to your GP to try and get a diagnosis, it could be easily solved.

c'mon guys. Honestly we're getting 2 or 3 of these threads every week asking for personal medical advice.

The forum is not for that kind of discussion. it's for discussion of medical/biological related topics.

In some cases people talk about their own illnesses, and their experiences of it. But that should only be when a diagnosis is reached, and a course of treatment has been started.

I know it's frustrating to not have a diagnosis, and access to healthcare in ireland is expensive. So, i do understand why people post here.

But it's really not safe to take medical advice from strangers over the net.

    Cheers guys. Rant over :p
