I played this game on the cube when it first came out. I've recently started playing it on the wii. It's absolutely amazing. All the extras are so good and the game is huge. I really think the wii controls work a lot better than the original cube controller. What does everyone else think? I just can't get over how good this game is. If you haven't played it go and buy it! Allthough I'd say most people around here own it or at least have played it.

What's the deal with 5. Is it going to be along the same lines?

I was just reading about RE5 on wikipedia

Should be amazing! No mention of the wii though!

Yeah fantastic game. I think the first section in the village is the best with the creepy woods etc. There are some brilliant boss fights all through the game. I loved the part where Leon gets stuck in the house and has to fight off 100's of villagers. Absolute class.

One of the best wii games. I think I've completed it 4 or 5 times now, and I rarely do that.

the wii version is awesome - i'd actually find myself standing up at some points (when it gets a little hairy!) sad i know, but not since world of warcraft have i been so invloved in a game. the 2nd time i completed it though i did it in about 2/3 hrs - with all the tripped out weapons

They are not working on a Wii version at the moment, I suppose in theory they could use the RE4Wii engine and create it that way but it is not in the works at the moment.

REsi 4 is a top game, and was fantastic on the Wii. I am disgusted that resi 5 won't be on wii

I would assume it's because the Wii has about as much horsepower as my mobile phone...
After seeing the last trailer, I just can't imagine playing a watered down version of it on the Wii, no matter how great the controls were (Resi 4 Wii = perfection)

    From here:
    http://revoeyes.blogspot.com/2007/07/resident-evil-5-wii-clearer-info-on.html
Q: We gave Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition an excellent score. Why isn't Capcom bringing RE5 to Wii? As we seen with that game, impressive graphics can be done on that platform as well.

A: Decisions surrending the RE5 project were taken a long time ago and they needed to choose quickly on which platform they wanted to develop it. They haven't decided if they will port RE5 on Wii yet. So in a way this game (RE4:Wii); ... will help us to test the market, to see if developing this genre on this platform is interesting. The decision is not made yet.
However that interview is from last year and all that appears online is petitions to port RE5 to the Wii (http://www.petitiononline.com/WiiRes5/petition.html )

Even if it is a watered down version of the ps3/360 version i would be happy to buy it . . . as long as it was a good watered down version.

My GF used to sit there and laugh at me standing there playing it when it got too tense!! Her little brother tried playing it on my wii and scared himself so badly he paused it and had to leave the room! :D Thats what a game like that should do!

I wouldn't mind getting it for the Wii, but I got it for the cube just about a week before it was announced for the Wii so don't wanna go and pay full or nearly full price for it again.

Still one of the best looking games of all time, including this generation.

In fact in terms of maximizing every single ounce of the original host machine's(Gamecube) power, it is probably the best looking game of all time.

Played it on the GC,is it worth getting again on the Wii?

afaik we got Umbrella chronicles instead of RE5. Dont quote me on that, my friend read it in a game magazine and told me.

No decission has been made yet about it even coming out so fingers crossed it will.
Graphics wise, it wont be much different than RE4 because RE4 imo pushed the Wii to what it can and only do in that style game. And it did it well.

Tho hopefully Im proved wrong because the wii kicks major ass xD

That might have been before RE:UC turned into an on-rails shooter.

RE4 on the Wii is definitely worth the money (perhaps even if re-buying the GC version) although with the Wii controls, it's a little too easy. I play with the Wiimote on my right knee and the nunchuk on my left and after fooling around on a friends console for a little while, it's quite easy to snap the cursor to the head (or the stick of dynamite in a Ganados hand). Ammo conservation is a whole lot easier with the Wii controls, so much that with a little care (and a bit of knife-play), you can go nuts on the tougher enemies.

Just finished up a game on Normal there the night before last with the Red 9, Striker, Semi-Auto Rifle and Broken Butterfly all fully upgraded and an attaché case full of ammo and first-aid sprays.

Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun and i'm finishing up a second replay on Normal later on (chapter 5-3) and going to play through Professional. Then Mercenaries :)

Great game alright but ive been stuck in it for the last few months.

You know the part when youre locked in the house with some dude and all millions of zombies are trying to get in. Its very hard not to die

Professional is very tough, especially if you don't have rocket launcher ammo for some of the bosses.

A great tactic is to have the Red 9 handgun for that part, push all the bookcases in front of the windows and stand by the bottom of the stairs shooting the Ganados off the window ledges until Luis tells you to go upstairs. Then spend time pushing down ladders and shotgun-ing groups of enemies.

Oh i've beaten it before on Professional, but that was on the Gamecube version more than a year and a half ago :/ As long as i'm careful and
save the free Rocket Launcher in the castle for Salazar
    i should be okay.
