OK here's the deal. I want to go on a 2 week holiday end of August/start of sept (So maybe last week in aug and first week of sept) with the GF

TBH i'm not pushed where I go, but I want to go somewhere that little bit different. Budget isin't really a concern, but it would be a real bonus to get smoewhere that's cheap as we could live in that bit of luxury for the 2 weeks ;)

I'd like to stay in nice accomodation as opposed to budget

I'm an adventerous person who's main interest is the water, be it swimming, diving, skiing etc.
I want to go somewhere warm with beaches and clean water by the coast, MUST BE BESIDE THE WATER!
I want to go somewhere that I have the choice of waking up and either lazing by the pool drinking for the day or that I can spontaniously decide to do something fun. So basicly I need facilities to do stuff close-by

So basicly I want somewhere warm, with a bit of luxury (well, you get the drift) accomodation, by the sea, that's known for stuff to do, and preferably in a cheap'ish country. I don't really want to be flying West (ie. Americas etc.) but I am open to suggestions from all over the world (Except not as far as Thailand etc. - i'll do that next year when I spend the summer travelling)

This is where you guys come in :D rb_ie almost has Egypt sold to me from his review, but i'm open to suggestions. Can anyone think of somewhere that might suit me? Any info would be greatly appreciated, and there's free pints at the next boards beers for whoever's idea I go with ;)

    Inspire me!!

Dubai is a bit too upmarket really, i'm a 22yo student btw. Not looking for anythign mega fancy but wouldn't mind a little bit of luxury for the 2 weeks

Egypt, turkey, greece, croatia, spain, tunisia, morocco, thailand

All offer good activity/adventure type holidays by the sea. Thailand may be more expensive to get there but it's cheap as chips once you're there. Croatia has lots to offer anyone who wants water type adventure activities.

Don't book through an agent; search the internet and look up companies in the country offering diving holidays or whatever. You'll get it alot cheaper that way.

Thanks for the info - Thailand is off the cards as I plan on spending next summer travelling a few eastern countries, Thailand included

Croatia is a god one that I didn't think of - must take a look there. I don't plan on booking any 'adventures' before I get there but would like to know that the facilities are there and book when I get over there - much more room for haggling!
