Hi Gemma. I did Business, in 3rd year Accountancy now. Good course, first two years are a breeze if you have half a brain. What field could you see yourself going into? Accountancy has many job opportunities. 3rd year is hard but I've missed a lot of time *must stop drinkin*. A lot go for Marketing and some go for Tourism or Computers (don't even know the name of it!!)

Overral Business has many different choices to progresss to. I'd recommend you do Business over Bus & Admin mainly coz you do Admin anyway in business.

Ya i was hoping to do business in GMIT next year, glad to hear its good, i was talking to someone the last day and they said they hated it!!
But some things just arent for everyone!

You are right some things aren't for everyone. The fact that you want to do it shows that you will take a good interest in it. Some people do business because they don't have a clue what they want to do and like the sound of business ( i kid you not!). I've seen people doing it that did absolutely no business subjects for the leaving i.e business, accountancy, economics, etc. and get lost in it but i also know people that did no business subjects for the L.C and do really well. You are at an advantage if you have done one or two business subject (i did one) but don't worry if you haven't.

It's a big class and you'll make some good friends. Class parties are always good coz there's so many in the course and as i said before the course has many opportunities.

    Good luck with it!!

I did the business course in marketing, graduated with the honours degree in 2005.. found it a great course, very practical, much better than NUIG bcomm.. NUIG seemed very theory based what I saw my friends studying. Can be fairly demanding, one marketing lecturer in particular. Big benefit is the classes are relatively small so you get to know the lecturers on a personal level.. and they were of huge help when I started my own business last year.. I'd recommend the course for sure.

Ya, Im not doing any business subjects in school now but I done a few in my Junior Cert and loved it.
I didnt choose any for my leaving because there jus bad bas techers in my school.
But hopefully I get the course!!

How very nice of mummy and daddy to continue spoonfeeding you even when you're an adult. You obviously have no real motivation to do well in life as you'll settle for a "mediocre" (try using a dictionary next time) job. What your lacking in motivation you make up for in confidence, or should i say narcissism. You are either extremely naive or unbelievably stupid to think that your so called "good looks" will get you a good job or anywhere in life for that matter. I'm guessing you are a bit dense because you are asking me what i do when i clearly said it in the second post. Your sheer arrogance to come on this forum and broadcast the fact that you are a vain, self-absorbed, illiterate loser shows how sad and pathetic you really are.

dellboy lets get one thing very straight here i don't usually entertain internet slagging matches I leave that to geeks and nerds but seeing as you are being so judgemental of my good fortune and utilisation of same i might row in on you.firstly you are a GMIT student. I did **** all for the leaving cert and ended up here . You being your motivated self righteous self actively sought to attend this institute which in turn renders you extremely dumb . if u had any gumption and smarts you would be in a university and not in the soup kitchen. Don't give me this "the course I wanted was in GMIT" bull either. Secondly Im just being brutally honest and not giving the pc self deprecating generics that we seen being thrown around too much these days.If u cant handle the truth from an alpha male then its a sad reflection on your closed mind.

But Dellboy he will have a marketing degree, he can use that in life.... he can display it in his car to park in the handicapped spaces around town!!!

im not doing marketing ya punk im doin a schooling in the university of life. geeks galore unite in your attack of the alpha male

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 62 ✭✭Awesomo-4000

Alpha male??? You sound like a wanker, spongin off mammy and daddy and all your able to say is you did piss all for your leavin cert. So i suppose if you did any work you'd be doin medicine now... way too cool for doin any work though. Do you even know what a geek is??? i barely came in to college all year and im still gonna pass all my exams, spent most of my time drinkin and doin **** all, im just naturally smart and guess what when i finish college i'll have a proper job!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 812 ✭✭✭Dellboy2007

Alpha male!!!! ha ha ha what a fcukin loser! And you think i'm a geek because i can speak and spell properly!! You're right i didn't want to come here i did fcuk all for the leaving as well only smoke weed and drink every weekend. But i'm here now and like awesomo haven't done a thing all year, my grants been stoped 3 times and i've been called in about my attendance. And you know what, i'm going to have a job out of it and a fookin good one at that, unlike you who will probably never succeed in any job you do. Why don't you run back to your gaylicking friends

you are a geek cos i say u are a geek and a pretty poor one at that seein as you are in GMIT. For someone who feels they are superior to me u cannot verbalise yourself very well . I detect that from my lure of a joke post u saw easy pickings for your hungry yet average brain. u didnt expect my fresh approach and as I pounced back u were miffed. Im not in GMIT u fool Im in NUI doing something real u peasant . I did a lot of boozin this year and took down alot of female statistics . I can say for sure my amorous pursuits far outshone your meagre attempts. id say u sat around smokin weed talkin about mettalica all night and stuffed your philistine mouths with fried garbage

God do you think anyone believes a word you say now?? You come on this forum saying your in gmit now you're saying your in nuig. You are loser so accept it. You have lost all credibility and no one can believe anything you say now. You are obviously living in a fantasy world where you think you are god's gift and a so called "alpha male". Do you actually realise how pathetic you sound? You try to make assumptions about me like, how i supposedly like Metallica when i've never listened to them in my life nor am i even into rock music again showing how dense you are. And just for the record i have a fair idea who you are and it's not surprising everyone thinks you are a complete dickhead D

Interesting, is there some kind of stigma attached to attending GMIT and elitism attached to NUIG?
