Jerrold Decoder with Chorus

We have one of these decoders and it is giving trouble. The signal is poor and the terrestial channels are not even coming through that clear.

    We have analogue chorus only.

It is as if the connection from the in and out lead is not being made strongly enough through the box.

I was on to chrus, and they do not have a clue. They said they sent a booster signal to the box. Is this possible?

Anyway, it will be a week before they are out. I know I can cut out the box and join the two leads, but then I do not have sky sports. Just wondering if there is anything I can do to reset the box or something similiar, to get it working.

    Cheers
