An odd request

I bought a Dell vostro about 3 weeks ago, after about 2 hours of turning it on i get 2 dead pixels. The next day I email dell about it and get a response to call dell vostro support on a number they provide. I try ringing the number but cant get through. The dead pixels disappeared after about a day so I kind of ignored it.
They appeared again last night, so I found that dell gave me the english Vostro support number, hence I couldnt get through. I rang the Irish number just there and they say if ive 3 or 4 dead pixels in the center of the screen they will fix it, but not just 2. They would of replaced it in the first week if id been able to contact them but.... ^^

My request is.... how can I get more dead pixels? If i get more, then they will fix it for free, if I dont get more, im stuck with a laptop with 2 dead pixels.

Oh, and if the pixels keep dissappearing and reapearing then what if I sent it to them and they see no dead pixels!

Im absolutely fuming with them now!!:mad:

This seems to be pretty common policy when doing returns because of dead pixels. I wouldn't try and induce any more (wouldn't know how either!) :D

Try tapping the affected area gently a few times with your knuckles. This can sometimes revive the dead pixels.

try installing UDPixel. It can either help you identify other dead pixels you may not even know about or help you repair the ones you have.

The pixels appear and dissappear every now and again. Right now they are gone, but they will be back. I might try telling them ive a few (4 or 5) but they appear and dissappear every now and again.
Or, ill get talking to a supervisor and give out stink to them... i also emailed dell 4 days after i recieved the laptop reporting the defect, they gave me the english Vostro support number so I couldnt contact them (also the pixels revived and I ignored the problem). So i have on record that I had dead pixels within 4 days of recieving the laptop.

Fingers crossed for ringin em tomorrow.

On a lighter note, due to a pricing error in Tescos, i got a free Heiniken Keg.:pac:
