Accommodation in Cardiff

As an Irishman in Cardiff and after fielding questions about accommodation all week I can safely say that there is nothing available within about 40 miles of Cardiff on the HC weekend.

And if you do get to stay in Bristol you will find the last train leaves Cardiff at 22.00hrs. Its the same for other places in South Wales. All will involve a taxi ride costing £50+.

I have managed to persuade our rugby club to allow some camping on the weekend. We are 10 mins from the center of town and 5 mins south of Junction 32 on the M4. There is even a train station 400m from the club that takes you to and from the city centre. The clubhouse will be available for showers and toilets and there is lots of space for parking. I am also hoping to arrange breakfast for those that want it.

All you need to do is provide the tent. Price will be £5 per person per night.

If you are interested contact me on accommodation@chsobrfc.co.uk

    Hi Paul

Quick question for you. I just managed to book a guesthouse in Swansea yesterday.

How difficult would it be to get to and from Swansea on match day on the train. Should I book ahead?

Simple answer is I don't know.

There will be lots of trains going up so you should be able to get on one to Cardiff.

The problem is the return. The last train west is at 23.00 hrs but it will be like a Mumbai commuter train.

You can look on First Great Western for other train times and that will also be the place to book your ticket. Best way to guarantee is going 1st class if available.
