Need help with my new tv please

    On my old tv when i powered up the dvd player, it would automatically switch to the channel for it. Sky to dvd. I bought a samsung lcd today and got a dvd player that is connected by hdmi. When I switch it on it doesn't auto swotch to the dvd player so I have to manually look for it. Same when I turn on the telly, it goes to the channels with nothing tuned in so I have to switch to the sky channel. Can I set it up to swithc automatically?

    Please help if you can..
