You'd have to buy one of those adapters for the plug. I'm not sure abut keyboard layout. What's the site and what laptop is it?

    I found it
    800px-KB_Germany.svg.png

I'm not so sure whether or not it would have that layout, it's just something to check.

Aall the dell vostro range have an option to "downgrade" to xp at no extra cost, They are also probably the best value for money as far as laptops go these days. Do you have a budget, any specific requirements ie, portability? Gaming etc.
Oh, they're found on the dell small business section of their site.

EDIT: They're charging €50 to change to xp pro!!!!

no real budget, will buy a high spec machine that looks like good value

    laptopsdirect.ie look good.
novatech.co.uk have high-spec rebranded clevo laptops at good prices.
komplett.ie are another option, though they don't have a huge range of laptops.
    dabs.ie are also worth checking.

I haven't used the first two. I've ordered from the latter two and found them grand, although I would strongly recommend not uing gls for couriers if you were to order from komplett.

Regarding the German keyboard, you sould be able to change the keyboard settings in the computer anyway. So if you can touch type there wouldn't be any difference byond the look of the keyboard.

Doesn't look great to me. To compare it with the one I linked, it doesn't have blu ray, it has the same processor, it doesn't seem to have a graphics card, it doesn't have the telly card, and it costs a good bit more. So you could get a higher spec machine for less money than that costs.
You shouldn't restrict yourself to models with xp pre-installed. You could install it yourself.

honestly, i don't know how to do that with installing XP

can somebody find me something good with XP? i'm not sure where to look online and any shop i've visited do not stock XP laptops anymore

i really don't want vista. i've used it and i don't like it

    try www.edealinfo.com

this is a great site and I think they may have a uk section, otherwise you would need to know someone in the US so they could fedex it to u.

It may seem like a lot of hassle to import from US but the cost savings are usually incredible (even after fedex including shipping insurance) + the weak dollar also helps!
