Ok, this is more of a test thread to see if I can load up from flickr. I have a new one of a Beetle & ran my Bumble Bee one through photoshop to see if it made the image better. So, what do you think? Cheers...

Ok, failing miserably at the moment...... Will try a bit later...

Still no joy.... Gonna have to revert to the old way.

By the way, you obviously don't have a macro lens, so perhaps you should avoid the macro type shots for a while.

You get used to the snobbery in here after a while

Never get used to the smart arse sniping though.

Trojan, most of the great flower/insect etc. shots, that you see here, are taken with a macro lens. If you try to replicate that with a non-macro lens, you could find yourself being frustrated with the results.

This is the closest thing I could get to a macro shot, without using a macro lens.
I did use a tripod & an artificial light source, with a long exposure though.

Cheers, that does explain a few things. I didn't realise I needed a macro lens, I thought I the macro function on the camera was just that. More internet reading me thinks.... I think I'll post again when I feel I've learnt a lot more.

I like the shots for what they are but a bit of work might help them out .. they lack impact. The colours make them look a bit dated, maybe a bit of photoshop (pull back the magenta) can add something to them?

Edit: Hope you dont mid but I had a play with them?
