    Hi,

Myself and the wife are planning a purely relaxation holiday in early September somewhere closeby in Europe. At the moment Fuerteventura in Canary Islands is the fore runner but I'm not so sure I'm getting mixed reviews. We're looking for 4 star hotel with good facilities. Any recommendations?

Stayed in a lovley 4 star hotel in ibiza ( the serinas country club hotel in porta del torant ) very relaxing family scene ,lbeautiful view of the med ,lovley accommodation and good entertainment provided by the air tour reps .It may have changed since we were there but it was much nicer then our last two recent holidays abroad in canarys/lanzorotie

Thanks guys both worth considering. I'm guessing that is the quiet part of Ibiza :-)

We are going to the Marina Club in Lagos in Portugal. It's a lovely town filled with lots of restaurants and bars (not dodgy nightclubs though!).
The hotel is a 4 star and is lovely.
We booked with Sunworld. It's e528 to go around the end of August, start of Sept for a week, extras will probably bring it up, I just checked the site.

There it is, highly recommended. It's on the Marina and near the town and beach. Check its reviews on Trip Advisor.

How about Sorrento? Plenty of accommodation, so bound to be something that suits you and the Amalfi Coast is stunning. As well as the other towns in the area you can visit Capri and Pompeii handily enough.

thanks. All look great. We've decided to go with Fuerteventura after all. Bad reviews seem to be based on it being too quiet....which is a plus for us :)

Fuerteventura is a good choice for a relaxing holiday, we've been a few times. I would recommend the Sheraton or Elba Carlota in Caleta de Fuste. Beautiful five star hotels on the beach, the main town just a short walk or free bus ride away. Right in the town the Elba San Jorge would be cheaper but very good value. In either case pay extra for a sea view. You'll be glad you did.

The airport is less than fifteen minutes, taxis are cheap or if you're thinking of hiring a car the best value with no hassle and no hidden extras is Autoreisin.

The town itself doesn't have anything special going for it, fairly quiet, a number of reasonably good restuarants a lot of brits but no lager louts.
Ryanair fly Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.

    Have a nice trip
