Power consumption in sleep mode

    Does putting your mac in sleep mode stop it using much power? trying to get people to turnoff their macs at the end of the day isn't working so i thought sleep might be a better option.

    Use very little while in sleep. Probably only a few watts.

    Any decent computer will draw between 1W to 10W while in sleep mode, IIRC.

    To make it easier, set in Preferences that pressing the power button puts the machine to sleep.

    sleep is the way to go...................remember that you can schedule the computers to go into sleep mode at a certain time.
