'Month in Hand' money - do I get it back??

    Hi,

I've handed in my notice at work and am due to leave on the 9th of May, next Friday and at the start of my current job I worked a month in hand (i.e. I didn't get paid until the end of the second month). Because I'm probably going to have to do that in my new job, I'll not be paid for about 8 weeks. Am I entitled to get that 'month in hand' money back? confused

Any advice would be great, thanks

I don't see why not as basically you are getting paid a month after you do the work, ie, the work you do in Jan you get paid at the end of Feb.

I've never seen the logic in a company paying people this way:confused:

    Example -

You join company A on March 15. You have missed the cut off point for that month's wages. On April 30 you get wages for March 15 - March 31 and April.

Are you saying you are wondering if you will get paid for the days you worked in March? If that is what you are saying, then yes, you will get paid for every day you worked.

Yeah, but if the OP was paid in the end of April to include all the days worked in March/April, they won't get any extra now.
