Hi there, i'd like to find out on where to find my contacts & emails, as i had the contents of the pc backed up & restored after it getting fixed, but noticed there were none there at all?

Also i noticed MS Outlook there as well, is that much better than OE 6?

    Thanks.

If you're using XP your contacts should be found at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

    Your emails will be at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

I'm not sure where they can be found on Vista, but likely the C:\Users\<user>\Appdata\ folder.

You can go to File-Import to then import the emails.

Outlook is more of a business oriented application. It's Outlook Express with a few more bells and whistles. If you are only using email then Outlook Express will do fine.

importing emails will fail if the .dbx files are marked read only, so if they are on a cd, copy them to your hard drive, right click each file and uncheck read only and apply, only then can you import them

AFAIK My Documents was copied/moved to another drive while mine was wiped & then put back on using a mem. stick. Does that help?
