Bamboo Plywood & laminate

Hi there

Has anyone sourced / worked with bamboo plywood / laminates? There's some pretty funky stuff made from it out there - e.g. http://www.ecodesignz.com/page/ED/PROD/Tables/ED-28/ , http://www.dezeen.com/2007/01/30/artek-launches-bamboo-furniture/ , http://www.thedailygreen.com/green-homes/latest/eco-friendly-furniture-green-gorgeous but googling for Irish stuff doesn't throw up anything.

I'm not a woodworker but have ended up doing a furniture design project on a Design course in college and am considering bamboo for table top and bendable bamboo ply for chair (not sure if latter means steam or bending whilst layering it).

The course is almost over and we don't actually have to make it but we do need to do technical drawings and have researched the materials etc.

So if there's anyone out there who has used it, I might have a few questions...

I actully found a place that sells salon furniture in Dublin...they do the full range of salon equipment fo hair salons like stylist chairs,,backwash units, barbers chairs,,

I had a quick look at that site and to me it looks as though it's furniture they import. It's not clear to me what materials are used for the furniture. Do they sell bamboo items from bamboo ply?
