Ha.. 2 hours.. is that all it takes to complete? I think it took me a year or two to complete back in the day.

I was stuck on the bloody ship for months.

Hah, yep the ship was tough. Proud I completed MI1+2 back in the day too (and without cheats).

I think MI opened my eyes and captured my imagination in a way no game ever had before or since (possible exception being Last Ninja 2).##

(Insert Disk 11 ..... couldn't see kids of today putting up with that!)

Lucas Arts were never great at the whole disk swapping thing though.

There was a bit in MI2 where Largo spits across the room and you have to change the disks about 4 or 5 times to see the animation.

Simon the Sorcerer and Beneath a Steel Sky seemed to be a lot more intelligent in their use of disk swapping.

Awww, yeah, I completed MI 1 and 2 back in the day too... Wonderful imagination and thought went into making them! I always had a hard drive in my machine (and still do) so disk swapping for most games wasn't a problem :)

A big one for me was Super Stardust, especially with its scrolling tunnels on the bonus levels (check out 5:08 on this video for the tunnel section). Was far smoother than that in reality...

i loved this game, Dune 2

Oh yes. Dune 2 is without a doubt an absolute classic.

But who remembers the first Dune game? It was pretty cool in it's own way too... very different.

I remember it got very difficult towards the end... don't think I ever completed it.

yes i played it but i had to restart it as i cocked it up and eventually finished it
    it stills looks beautiful today

Dune II is an all time classic. I seem to remember it had about 5 disks most of which housed the intro! As for the first Dune I never got very far and gave up on it (Shame on me). All the games above are classics but i never did like elfmania. What was with all the bloody coins? Besides there was Body blows from Team 17 which was far better imo!

I think I stuck Elfmania in there because I was always very impressed with the graphics.

Some of the best parallax scrolling of all time.
