Someone posted on here that Spectra on Grafton St are advertising cheap ibooks...does anyone have any more info? Specs, condition (new, ex-display) and most importantly, price?:)

Also, is it true alot of them suffer video display faults? If so, I'd be hesitant...

I have personally attempted to fix a iBook G4 (inflicted with the infamous graphics chip problem) which I got for EUR80. After nearly burning out the chip on the motherboard (until it's dead), I decided I failed and sold off the rest of the iBook (HDD, screen, AirportCard, etc) - and made a little profit :D .

Yes, do a search on eBay and you'll be surprised how many iBooks (G3, G4) are plagued with this problem. So unless you managed to lay hands on a less-than-EUR70 iBook (with a CPU speed of at least 900MHz), run and hide from these production failures.

Actually, if you do find one but are un-willing to try the fix, pls let me know. I'll have another go :D.
