Aviation Ireland TeamSpeak

    Hello pilots and aviation enthusiasts!

I am posting this to let you know about a new TeamSpeak server that I have setup for Pilots and aviation enthusiasts in Ireland. If you are unfamiliar with TeamSpeak, it is similar to a VOIP that allows users to speak on a chat channel with other users, much like a telephone conference call. TeamSpeak users will need any regular microphone to speak on the server. The download and use of teamspeak is absolutely free.

I think something like this will be responded to well but I need help to spread the word! The Aviation Ireland Teamspeak will be for pilots to chat about, well, everything and anything. But it is also a place where students can log on and get advice from more experienced pilots. This TeamSpeak can also be used for clubs to arrange dates for fly-ins etc. or for NASrav and other organisations to discuss meetings etc. etc. The possibilities are endless, so suggestions are very much welcome.

The Teamspeak application can be downloaded here : www.goteamspeak.com

Please do log on and see what its like!

    To Logon:

    Open the Teamspeak application>
Click Connection on the toolbar at the top>
    Click Quick Connect>

    Server address: 75.127.109.52:8772
    Nickname: (your name)
    Login name: (leave blank)
    Password: (leave blank)

You may then need to adjust sound settings, eg. What key you use to transmit.

You can PM me or e-mail me for questions or comments! aviation.ireland@live.ie

Thanks, I hope to see you online soon! :D

Cool, I have a few quick questions first if you don't mind.
Who is the server targeted to? are there different channels or are we all jumbled up into one?Is there lag on the teamspeak server? and how is it moderated etc etc.

    Thanks RoundyMoody,

    Hello Darragh,

The server will be for general aviation Pilots and enthusiasts based all over Ireland. Currently I've made a section for each province and in that, a room for each flying club. There is also a general chat room, a students room and conference room. Its just getting started though, so if you think there is something I should add, just tell me! As it gets busier and more users come online, I'll might ask someone to be an administrator on their Flying club's channel.... up for the task??! :)

The voice quality is good and there is no lag unless you have a very bad internet connection, but it can be used by both broadband and dial-up users.
As I said before, you can download the TS (teamspeak) software free and you can login and check it out. There is NO obligation to register or anything like that. The TeamSpeak is what you make it so the more people join in, the better.

    Keep the questions coming! :)
