Hi new poster looking for some advice.

I've thinking about going back to college to do a master or higher dip in the business or management area. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has done any courses in leinster area like this cost benefit they got etc.

    Cheers,
    Duchess

    Hi,
I'm currently 2/3rds of the way through a DBS H.Dip. in Business Studies (http://www.dbs.ie/postgraduate-higher-diploma-business/tabid/305/) on a part-time basis. I would strongly recommend doing it p/t, unless you want the work placement, which I'm sure the majority don't. Came into it after doing a degree in Chemistry (2005), and the course s pretty accessible. Lecturers can be hit and miss, its 2 nights / week (1815 - 2130) and you should probably dedicate at least another night off per week for group projects (4 every semester) and study, so substantial commitment is required. You'll need 9 work days off for exams every semester (4 exam days and a week of study to be totally prepared), something that needs to be factored in).
It didn't directly help me get my new job, although it shows commitment and enthusiasm, so it certainly won't harm any applications.
Cost of the course is €5,450, you get €1,000 back in tax, obviously best if you can get your employer to chip in!

PM me if I can be of more help :)

It's not too bad tbh, worst thing is trying to find the time to get everything done, you have to sacrifice the social life a tiny bit. At the end of each course they essentially tell you which sections to focus on (wink wink nudge nudge), which helps!
They don't call DBS - Degrees Bought and Sold for no reason!
