Now I seen the thread of Top 5 Irish Indie Bands, I do firmly believe that the 3 bands here could be well in contention for the top 5 if they were more well known, anyway, thats beside the point

The Neon Stars Play The Hub on Friday 2nd of May to raise funds for the recording of their EP. (Hopefully upon launching this it will raise their profile in Ireland and they will get more recognition)

They have invited a few friends too come along and play aswell, in the form of The Chapman Society, and Matt Lane and another band aswell yet to be confirmed

It should be a great night, €10 admission, and there will be free glowsticks aswell, courtesy of the Neon Stars

Should Be A fantastic Nite, and when the Bands Finish Up, Expect the finest in Indie tunes to be spun by Resident DJ's and as The Hub does have a Late Bar, It will be drinking and dancing until the early hours of Saturday Morning!

Would be great too see as many people as possible here, to enjoy the celebration of Indie!

So you'd put yourself in the top 3 Irish indie bands?

Was at this gig last night.

The best thing about it was the first band on. They blew evey other band away. I beleive they were called Sons Of Jacobian .

The singers amp even blew cutting their set pretty short, but still were leagues ahead of the other bands ( 3 of them ) .

Will try and catch them again.
Id say those Neon Stars were the best of the rest.

Yeah Bambi, putting yourself and two other bands (that ye seem to play repeatedly with) on a pedestal, well, fair enough if that's how you roll.

    Ok Ok....
    Maybe Im wrong,

My band Is Matt Lane, and In honesty, I do firmly believe that The Chapman Society And The Neon Stars would be well in contention for the top 5 indie bands in Ireland if they got more exposure, and I would recomend that yas check em out!! Music Is all down to personal Opinion really, I really enjoy the music of The Chapmans and The Neons, as in my opinion they write catchy songs with great melodies and hooks.... its all about the hooks really!!

I know we gig alot with both of these bands, but its more as a matter of coincidence, as we are normally asked by the event organisers to play and luckily enough we do end up gigging together quite a bit...... I dunno about placing them on a pedastool but i really do think both of these bands are brilliant, and any of the friends ive brought to gigs too see us, have allways enjoyed the Chapmans and The Neons aswell, so I'd happily gig with either band again because I know anyone who comes to see us will enjoy the other bands also!

I dunno where Id rank ourselves to be honest, I like our music, but I would really love too hear the opinions people have on our music? Weather u like it or hate it any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Sons Of Jacobian were indeed the first band on as u mentioned Stonecutter, just to point out, the amp the singer "blew up" was mine, and it was due to a faulty lead he was using, as I used the amp and it worked perfectly for me.... I do have to say I did enjoy their set... absolutly savage drummer, thought he was brilliant! Honestly didnt feel that they fitted the bill on the night, as they were more heavy rock orientated and less indie like the other bands, id say on the right night yas would go down a treat, but I thought they were pretty good anyway.....

Id agree and say the Neons stole the Show, despite the singers amp actually blowing up and not working for a few songs they still carried on and played an absolute stormer!

Yeah And I do guess this shoulda gone in the Gigs section!! Apologies.... But I also posted links for these bands, and I was hoping people would give em a listen
