Has anyone any feedback, experiences of Logitech's diNovo Mini:

    http://techdigest.tv/2008/01/ces_2008_logite.html

Thinking along these lines for a HTPC remote. The only drawback i can see there are no 'F' keys on here. Anyone have any advise/comments regarding this item?

:) - Here's a thread on it over on AVForums, which might also help !

I've had one for about a week now, and I think it's great. I haven't used it extensively, but it's fantastic for 'sofa surfing', and also for not annoying herself by trailing keyboard and mouse leads across the living room. It obviously looks fantastic too, which again helps with herself - hasn't objected to it being left on display. Cost me €101 from Dabs. I wouldn't use it for extensive typing, obviously, but that's not what it's for. Haven't figured out how to right-click on it yet, but have been too lazy to rtfm.

    Steve.

But alas the keyboard would be in German!........i think!

Thanks for your input and feedback Steve. Any more users out there that wish to comment? Cheers.:D:D

Cheaper sticking with Dabs, with a UK/Irish keyboard:

    €99.46, delivery €5.

If you don't want to splash the cash and just want a keyboard for the odd bit of surfing etc, then I would recommend the keysonic one I have. Looks like a laptop keyboard and you get the touch panel for mouse movement and button presses too, so no need for an extra wireless mouse. Doesn't look the best, but its hidden in a cabinet 99.9% of the time.

Keysonic have brought out another one which has extra media keys and is bigger. Also available from Amazon.

Also, all the media center functionality is available through any keyboard (accelerators). But if you are a regular MCE user, the remote is best rather than a cumbersome keyboard.

Hey bazwaldo, have reviewed the keysonic alright, but tbh i think the dinovo mini would be better suited to my usage as you have touched on in your post. It will be used mainly for VMC and minor sufing of the interweb.

aka it looks 4 million times cooler :)

Don't blame ye, if I was on the lookout again I'd go for it too. Don't ye just hate technology. As soon as you buy something, the following week something way cooler comes along

press the fn button & left mose button together. It is my only gripe with it. Otherwise is works great. I have been using it for a month now.

bought on of these and it's a great yolk, had one small issue though,if my media pc goes into standby the cursor freezes and the only way to unfreeze it is to take out the battery and put it back in again. I'm running vista 32-bit btw.anyone else have the same problem?

yeah I have the same problem Joe but it comes down to the bluetooth dongle that comes with the diNovo. I havent tried it personally but check out this thread
