Having trouble downloading updates for ps 3 games

hi ,is anyone else having trouble downloading updates with motor storm and granturismo 5, i got my console yesterday, having trouble downloading up dates with said titles anyone else having any problems.

not sure about motorstorm but i had a hell of a time updating gt5 , i got it updated on my first ps3 after getting a lot of errors but to get it updated on my second ps3 i had to set up a Japanese account to get the update.

yeah it was a nightmare finally got it, sorry to say this but im glad im not the only one i tought it was me ,just bought it after my 360 packed in, here we go again sort of thing, it was worth the download wait on gt5 , wow what a game cant wait for the main release if that what the taster is like.

There must be a problem specific to the GT5 update, I can get PS3 firmware updates working no problem first time. But the GT5 update is failing all the time, sometimes at the start, sometimes half way through.

I wish it could be downloaded via PC and copied over.

BTW, I'm on vodafone 3g, wired connection from PS3 to router.

i was on to a guy in the game store, bit of an expert if you ask me, according to him its to do with gt5 being a prologe ie its relesed to solve all these issues when the full fat relese of gt5, mmmm could of told us that when they were putting there hands out for our 40-45 yo-yo,s, who cares when you do finally get it down loaded its a dream to play, i just kept on downloading about 5 times as you said patrick it would error half way tru, but if you keep it up it will drop for you.all the best.

Once off ,try turning off the firewall on your router until you do your updates.

The ps3 has it's own firewall and the router can time out stuff.
