    Hi All,

I am bringing a friend to a wedding in a few weeks and she wants to have her hair done for it. She has alopecia and is obviously nervous about the hairdresser causing damage to her hair.

It is just a small patch so can be easily covered so wigs etc are not needed but I have two questions:

    1. Does anybody know of a good hairdresser in Dublin or close to Dublin/Meath/Cavan who you would recommend, preferrably somebody who deals with Alopecia regularly?

    2. Would it be safe for her to get her hair coloured if it is done by a good hairdresser or would this cause more damage?

    Thanks in advance,

    Phil

i have alopecia and i just go to any hairdressers, once she tells them what she wants there shouldbe no problem. as for the colour, alopecia is usualy auto immune so hair colour shouldnt affect it. but he hasnt found them yet, tell her to have a look at the alopecia forums online. feel free to pm me for the links to the ones i find useful as i dont know if i can post them here.

    Thanks maryjane1!

PM sent for links to the forums if you wouldn't mind, I'm sure there are loads out there so it would be useful to know which ones you use.
